These .tfm files are for use with the accent administration
package CaesarCM operating under standard .tex implementations.

New versions are needed because kerning involving accented
characters was omitted from the TM fonts of D. Taupin 1992, on
which the first posting was based. In this second posting the
font metric files are instead based on the parallel DM virtual
font series of Brouard and Sullivan 1990.

Included are new versions of the font metrics for extended
versions of

         cmr10
         cmsl10
         cmti10

as distributed with CaesarCM (version 1 or 2). The tmr10.tfm is
just a renamed copy of cmr10.tfm. And dodo.tfm is unchanged.
For various reasons it is most convenient (but not necessary) to
use standard CM names for fonts that are in fact extended to the
ISOLatin1 half of the Cork norm 128-255 range.

Incidentally, CaesarCM of >= Jan 1993 indicates quick
procedures to set up further extended CM fonts that may prove
necessary, for example an extended cmr9 for figure captions. One
naively marries a TM series .pk file of Taupin with a DM
series .tfm file of Brouard-Sullivan. The quick procedure relies
partly on the constructed font name beginning in one of CM, TM,
DM, cm, tm, dm in order to identify the font as extended CM. On
ther other hand, the .tfm files posted here are internally marked
to be automatically recognized as extended CM *no matter what the
name*.
