Subject: OS-specific TeX problems
I have recently installed TeX3.14 (obtained from David Osborne only last week)
on an HP9000/720 running HP-UX 8.07 (latest thing) and have run up against
what looks like turning out to be a manifestation of an HP-UX bug which causes
TeX to fail almost instantly. Is there a proper forum in which I can bring
this to the attention of other HP-based TeX users? I don't think I'm likely
to be the only person to notice it.

I've been running "TeX, C Version 3.141" (which I think is the latest)
on a HP9000/720, though under only 8.05, for about six months and I've
had no problems. Perhaps you'd like to contact me directly.

I have just scanned both the TeX archive [.UTILS.SPELL...] and the Lancaster
PD software archive for a PC spelling-checker that is TeX-friendly. I haven't
found one. Before I go away and consider reinventing the wheel -- or at
least modifying and old wheel --- does anyone have such a beastie to offer
us?

you could
a) use dvispell to strip out all the TeX rubbish and put the result
through a checker
b) get into the good life, junk DOS in favour of OS/2 and use "ispell"
c) check out ftp.tex.ac.uk:pub/archive/support/spelchek, which I know
nothing about but brought back from Prague last month
